Project management software for construction companies
Mitrais was commissioned by a software company to develop multi-tenant
project management software for construction companies. The major benefit of the
new software will be to simplify maintenance of the application which is
available as a service (SaaS). The software covers contracts, schedules, cost
and materials management as well as daily progress reporting on construction
projects.

Customizable reports, as and when required
Mitrais was commissioned to create a reporting platform that allows a company
to efficiently develop and deploy highly customizable reports for its clients.
Once the framework is installed on the client’s server, new report plug-ins can
be delivered via the internet. The Scheduling Report Framework (SRF) allows each
plug-in to run as scheduled using standard triggers such as daily, weekly,
monthly or customized triggers such as every 21st and 22nd of each month or
every Wednesday and Tuesday of each week.

National view of animal health and disease tracking
Mitrais has completed a Microsoft .NET web based Epidemiology Reporting
System designed to collect test data from across Indonesia to provide a national
view of animal health and the tracking of diseases such as H5N1 (avian flu),
H1N1 (swine flu) and rabies to help control outbreaks and coordinate treatment.
The system also allows the data to be collated by the Australian Animal Health
Laboratory (AAHL) which monitors animal health across the Asia Pacific region. A
second phase of the system development project is a client based version of the
software to support the smaller laboratories in Indonesia and allow for field
work where Internet access is not available or is intermittent. This version of
the system allows the data to be stored locally and then transmitted when a
connection is available. The system then integrates the new data as well as
updating the local client.

iPhone apps highlight diversity of user experience
Mitrais has developed several applications for the iPhone platform, including
an application that uses the iPhone camera device as well as the accelerometer
sensor for user interaction. It allows the object captured in the camera to be
magnified. Other applications which Mitrais has developed include one that
accesses an iPod media library to retrieve user media files and another that
interacts with the iPhone GPS hardware and Google Maps API to retrieve and
display user locations on maps. It also will show the user any Point of Interest
nearby the user’s current location. The applications capitalize on the iPhone’s
strong user experience feature - animation and audio library are commonly used
in the applications to highlight the experience.

Internet messenger application for online product technical support
A tight budget with an aggressive timeframe of less than one month
characterized an innovative project which Mitrais undertook to develop a
communications application for organizations needing an online product technical
support function. Mitrais helped to develop the architecture for the application
which integrated our client’s existing messaging server with the Microsoft
Office Communication Server (OCS) platform. This integration allows the use of
OCS messaging features and also extends the potential user base for the
application to all other Microsoft OCS users. The underlying technology used for
this project is XML messaging with Web Services’ SOAP. The application
streamlines technical support of a product enabling an organization’s support
staff to communicate with its customers or collaborate with other support
personnel. Communication takes place through a TCP/IP network whereby customers
can use their Web browser to chat. Think of Yahoo Messenger with a chat transfer
capability and you have some idea of the product’s functionality. Mitrais’
client is a software company which sells the Chat application to any
manufacturer needing an online Product Technical Support function. Mitrais’
client says the application is excellent from a design and interoperability
standpoint, especially considering the technology was new when the application
was developed.

Support and maintenance of an SMS gateway based system
Mitrais has been providing enhancement and defect fixes on an SMS gateway
based system for an Australian client through seat outsourcing services. The
product is an SMS gateway system accessible by the client’s customers. Each
customer has an account and credits assigned to it. The customers are able to
use the product themselves or sell the service to a third party. The product is
a Java based application and the technology used includes EJB, Spring MVC and
Hibernate.

Production kept on track with data on available materials
Mitrais was commissioned by a manufacturing company to create purchasing
reports that enable the client to monitor and analyze the number of items to be
purchased. By having storage and purchase reports, the goods required for
production are constantly monitored. This prevents the client from losing time
and money through a lack of goods, spare parts or materials required for
production.

is used each day for estimating by hundreds of engineering companies. The new
version allows users to choose a wide range database management systems
including SQLite, Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle, is packed with new enterprise
features and offers enhanced performance over the previous version. It is also
one of the first large desktop applications developed with Windows Presentation
Foundation (WPF) technology.

Contacts and Services Management Application for Spinal Cord Injury
Support
With a short development timeframe Mitrais software engineers recently turned
to the RAD tool Microsoft Access 2003 to develop a very small-scale application
which links people with spinal cord injury to services available to them, as
well as to donors and support staff. An important consideration was the
separation between the database (tables) and user interface (forms and reports)
to enable multiple user access and simplify backup process. The two month
project was undertaken on a time and materials basis. back to

Geological modeling and mine design system upgrade using Microsoft
Visual Studio .NET 2008
Mitrais undertook this major upgrade from a legacy X-windows based
application to a Microsoft .NET application using Microsoft Visual Studio .NET
2008. Working from Bali, Mitrais set up a VPN connection for Microsoft Visual
Studio .NET 2008 to be able to work with the Team Foundation Server (TFS) at the
client’s office. For collaborative software development, the use of Microsoft
Visual Studio .NET 2008 and TFS ensured quality work processes through source
control, work item, unit testing, code coverage, code analysis and nightly build
integration.
